Urban Street of Dreams Encore Unit 1603 goes GREEN

Furniture
Unit 1603 in the Encore “An Uncommon Life” uses socially responsible and environmentally sensitive Stephanie Odegard furniture paired with her vegetable-dyed, hand-knotted wool rugs Madison Millinger Rugs Odegard employs the use of traditional methods and craftsmanship to create modern pieces in order to assure the survival of those traditions and to honor the communities in which they are made.

Buy Vintage
Unit 1603 in the Encore “An Uncommon Life” achieves the fine balance between old and new. Each room has a mellowed lived-in quality that only furniture with a past can give. The vintage bedroom dresser is covered in antique landscape oil paintings; the very modern Parson’s dressing table is wrapped in a tattered Middle Eastern tapestry. An over sized 19th century painting of the nativity in dark Dutch masters coloring, gives the dining room grandeur all from Bernadette Breu Experience. With all the slick, mod, "Eco" brands jumping into the market it can be hard to keep in mind that pre-owned goods can be the greenest purchase of all. Vintage furniture requires no additional resources to manufacture, is often locally sourced (cutting down on transportation), is pre-off gassed and eases the load on the landfill. Quality vintage furniture can also have excellent resale value (sometimes selling for a higher price than it was purchased) which certainly can't be said for most new furniture, green or otherwise.

Paint
Unit 1603 in the Encore “An Uncommon Life” used Benjamin Moore low-VOC Aura paint. It is the next generation of paint using breakthrough paint technology, called Color Lock®. It is the only one of its kind in the industry, bringing discernibly richer, truer color. This product has been certified under the GREENGUARD Standard for Low Emitting Products and the GREENGUARD for Children & Schools product certification programs.
