River view property needs updating...that was my call to action!

I would like to take you on a tour of a home I recently completed, this home needed TLC.

AFTER

Mary and Tom had a lovely home, it just needed some updating. Being right on a river made us want to keep things simple...it's all about the view! I used a stacked natural stone and a two sided fireplace to replace the outdated brick and pot belly stove in the great room. See before photo below.

BEFORE

AFTER

Before this area had a odd feeling, especially with wall to wall carpeting. We added hardwood floors. Mary and Tom now have a wonderful dining area just off the kitchen, perfect for big family gatherings! We also added two skylights which flood this area with sunlight (a necessity with our gloomy Oregon winters!)

The kitchen didn't have enough counter top space so I bumped the wall out and got rid of the appliance stack to create lots of room.

     BEFORE

We carried neutral colors into the kitchen with a gray and white marble back splash and gray painted cabinets. The espresso island grounds the space and warms everything up visually.
AFTER

The small dining area and outdated railing in the existing kitchen made way for a breakfast bar ..perfect to look at the gorgeous river view!

This is a review from Mary about her experience with Kimberlee Jaynes Interior Designs Inc.
Relationship: Client
Project Date: July 2013
Project Price Range: More than $100,000
We purchased a home in Oregon that required extensive remodeling, which we planned to do while working and living in California. We discovered pretty quickly that we would need help with both the design and execution of such a large job from so far away. After searching for designers in the Portland area on Houzz we hired Kimberlee Jaynes. We could not have been happier with the outcome. Kimberlee has the gift of both listening, and more importantly understanding what you want in a home, and the ability to help you see what is possible. She never imposed her idea of what our house should look like, but she did open our eyes to ideas that we never would have come up with on our own. She was our "boots on the ground" in all things large and small during our remodel, involving us when necessary but shielding us from the inevitable day to day problems. I would definitely recommend Kimberlee for both her creative vision and design work, her ability to execute the job, for her professionalism, and for being a pleasure to work with.
